Onesong – Chapter 21

One of my fears with releasing this book online chapter by chapter as I have been, is that there are spoilers to the Sacred Knight series in here.

I’m going to let you know now that because I haven’t yet released Prince of the Ruined Land, I am removing some bits of Onesong so as to not ruin the twists and turns in Prince of the Ruined Land. So far, the story threads perfectly together without these small parts, but just in case over the next few weeks there are parts that seem to jump or are rushed, that is the reason.

This is so important to me because I want to save all that information for those of you that have been loyally reading the Sacred Knight series over the years and are waiting for the answers you know are coming. Major information is revealed in Prince of the Ruined Land.

Seriously, if you haven’t been reading the Sacred Knight series, or started but haven’t finished through To Birth a Destiny (History of a Dead Man is a companion novella, but not necessary to the series as a whole), you need to be getting there. Especially if you’ve been reading and enjoying Onesong. You’ll enjoy the journey through Onesong if you have the background of Sacred Knight.

I very much believe in trusting the writing process, even when it gets hard and or frustrating. I always know there is a reason to it. I had to write History of a Dead Man when I was writing Quest for the Three Books. I literally had to know what the truth and the lies were before I could write about them. I had Manifest the Magic and To Birth a Destiny in my head as I was developing those two. Granted, when it came to putting the meat on the skeletons of the stories I had, it nearly overwhelmed me. I knew what had to happen, but getting there was a project too large for me. You’ve seen my book, right? It’s the 1st edition.

All those colored tags remind me what information needs to be told in future books or is description that I might need to refer to later.

Because of this, I wrote Manifest the Magic and To Birth a Destiny together before releasing them. Prince of the Ruined Land and Onesong were pretty much the same, but only because there is so much crossover information. I must get Prince of the Ruined Land released before Onesong. That has been a driving factor behind 2017.

Someday, I must write a book that has nothing to do with anything else I’m writing, have written, or plan to write. (That might just be The Last Ant – though I’ve been asked for more – and Broken Smiles.) Do note that Loki wasn’t included there; I have a scene in my head for Loki where he meets one of the characters from my Sacred Knight story. Yeah, I think I’ll leave that right there. (grin)

Okay, enough playtime. Let’s get to the story.

Onesong is an epic fantasy story filled with action, adventure, and sword and sorcery. Chapter 21 is available for 1 week only! Then, it will turn back into a pumpkin and a new chapter will appear!
