Icicles? Yes, I have them.

I noticed these when I took the dogs out this morning. They were so beautiful with the rising sun sparkling through them that I had to run in and grab my phone to take a picture (or 2 or 4). (grin)

Just look at the picture above and notice how the water ran and froze between the two branches.

Here’s more icicles stretching toward the ground.

There’s still a bunch of snow on the flat roof. Most of the icicles that had been hanging off them fell off this last week, but there’s still quite a bit of overhang.

This is a shot of the underside. Yeah, that’s about a foot of frozen snow just trying to slide off the roof.

But while there is still quite a bit of snow out there, it is obviously melting. My lawn is quickly getting revealed in the front yard. The backyard is nearly a skating rink however. There’s a small island of refuge that is growing, but everywhere around it is flat and slick.

I’ve also seen the buds developing on my trees. If you look closely in these pictures, you’ll see some of those buds on my elderberry shrub. I’m noticing them even more on the trees outside my living room window, which is on the other side of the house from these pictures. Spring is definitely on the way.

I’m excited for the turn of the seasons? How about you?

Cheers!
