I am nearly finished with the last book in Mercedes Lackey’s Joust series, Aerie. I can’t help the feeling that she had intended on building up to another book or two in the series. It’ll be interesting to see how it ends and how she wraps it up. I’ll be sad if there are several threads left hanging.

I have to admit that the depth in it is not as encompassing as it was in the first book and some aspects feel forced. It’s this that makes me wonder if she was trying to build more.

I’m still glad that I stuck with the series. I know I will learn much from it.
