I have a little secret. Well, I guess I won’t after this (grin!).

One of my all-time favorite characters is Arlyn from my Sacred Knight series. If you haven’t read the series, he’s Steigan’s mentor. I won’t say anything more there.

Arlyn started off as a very simple character just meant to start Steigan on his journey. But as the series progressed, Arlyn’s character developed nearly as much as Steigan. And his story fascinated me.

It’s been lingering around in my head since I finished the series. Today, he spoke to me and said he’d like his backstory told.

Let me just say that now that the little worm has been planted in my ear, I’m itching to get started.

I will, however, finish the story I’m working on first. I had another story lined up that I wanted to finish after the one I’m working on now, but I’m not sure Arlyn’s story will wait.

On the bright side, I know all of the situations in the story. On the other hand, there must be something more that my creative voice is excited about telling on this story for me to be pulled in so hard.

I’m ecstatic to discover the deeper story.

But, my current book first. time to go work on it.
