Computers

I’m going to have to break down and get a new publishing computer I think. Argh. It feels like I’m always buying computers. Our I’m going to need to rethink what I do have (which is probably what I’ll do).

But, my Surface has been with me for a long time. At first, i thought I got it before me mom passed away, but apparently it’s not that old.

We didn’t have the greatest start together and I had to reset it twice. But eventually we found a working compromise. It would get quirky on me sometimes, but for the most part, it’s been a good computer.

Now, it runs so slowly, the battery gets hot, and there’s a fan running all the time if it’s not connected to power.

I think it’s silly that technology has such a short life. I get it, but it doesn’t mean I have to like it. I think it’s wasteful, but it makes our lives better when things work better, faster. When it goes slow, it gets frustrating.

I hardly ever write my blog posts on it anymore because it just clicks along. In the time it takes to start up now, I can be several paragraphs in on my blog. Sigh.

Well, I guess I’ll have to decide. Fortunately, that day is not today. Keep working, my little Surface!

Cheers.
