So here I was last night all writing about the digital timer and how it made me more productive.
Then today, after I was getting ready for this weekend’s show, I sat down to write. I turned the timer on and began writing. Then I remembered I had to do something. I got up to do that. Then there was another distraction. Oh, and let’s not forget to grab the easels.
I was walking into the kitchen when I recalled that I needed to get back to writing. Then I remembered I had the timer on. But surely I’d been up doing things for more than 17 minutes. I must not have turned the time on. Wasn’t that lucky of me?
Beep, beep, beep.
Beep, beep, beep.
Oh, yes. I had turned the time on and I’d spent 17 minutes doing other things other than writing. In fact, I got a whole whopping EIGHT words done. Yep. 8.
So, maybe the timer isn’t such a good idea when I’m trying to get other things done too, like get ready for a show when my brain is already like a squirrel trying to remember all the things I need to do.
This show? Yes, I’m glad you asked. I’m out with the Jerome Music Boosters at their Spring Craft and Gift Show. Several vendors all with cool stuff. Mothers Day is coming. So is Fathers Day. Or, just come get a gift for yourself. Yes, you deserve something for yourself every now and then. (grin)
It’s at the Jerome High School tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Come on out.
Cheers!
